Priority enrollment deposit date moved

Families given more time to commit to Pitt-Bradford

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford has extended its priority enrollment deposit date for incoming students from the traditional May 1 to May 15.

The extension is meant to give families more time to evaluate financial aid packages before committing to a university. More time is needed this year because of delays associated with the rollout of a new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the U.S. Department of Education.

The department recently announced that it will not send financial information provided by students and their families to universities until the middle of next month, much later than usual. The University of Pittsburgh, which also creates aid packages for Pitt-Bradford students, has said that it plans to send offers around mid-April.

“We want to make sure students and families have enough time to weigh their options before making an important commitment,” said Alex Nazemetz, associate vice president of enrollment management and director of admissions.

On average, 96.8% of Pitt-Bradford students receive financial assistance.

The priority enrollment deadline at Pitt-Bradford guarantees on-campus housing for students.

As always, families with questions can contact the Office of Admissions at Pitt-Bradford at admissions@upb.pitt.edu or 1-800-872-1787. Those with specific financial aid questions should email UPBaid@pitt.edu or call the number above.
