Canadian students may now be eligible for an $11,500 scholarship and a grant to cover the cost of housing (worth an additional $7,136) at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford located in Bradford, Pennsylvania.

Pitt-Bradford is a regional campus of the well-known American research university. It is fewer than 80 miles from the Canadian border and offers more than 40 majors, including engineering, business management and health-related programs.

Pitt-Bradford is also home to 13 NCAA Division III sports, including a new men’s lacrosse program, baseball and men’s and women’s soccer.

“Pitt-Bradford is proud of its diverse, friendly and supportive campus community, which includes students from 21 states and 18 territories and countries,” said Dr. James Baldwin, vice president of enrollment. “We believe our campus culture, location and this scholarship will appeal to Canadian high school students looking for an opportunity to earn a degree at an American university.”

To qualify for the Maple Leaf Scholarship, students must be Canadian citizens who have or will graduate from a Canadian high school. They must be newly admitted first-year students at Pitt-Bradford who plan to enroll full time this fall.

Students also will need to live on campus, have taken college prep classes in high school and have a cumulative weighted grade point average of at least 3.0 or its equivalent. Test scores such as SAT or ACT are optional.

The scholarship and housing grant are renewable each year for four years if a student maintains eligibility. All amounts are in American dollars.
