On Tuesday, Feb. 27, Pitt Day of Giving will help the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford raise money to support its athletic programs and scholarships.
Pitt-Bradford has set a goal of 600 donors giving any amount to earn prize money from the university. Last year, donor participation helped Pitt-Bradford earn $42,000 in extra funds that went toward the construction of an artificial turf field at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
“Pitt Day of Giving is all about participation,” said President Rick Esch. “Every gift – regardless of the amount – matters.”
Last year, Pitt-Bradford had the largest donor increase in the Pitt system and the second-largest number of donors. More than 500 donors from 24 states raised a total of more than $99,000.
Pitt Day of Giving gives Pitt alumni and friends an opportunity to donate to the areas that mean the most to them. Individual schools within the university and regional campuses compete in challenges for added prize money.
Individual funds donors can contribute to this year are the multipurpose artificial turf complex, women’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, wrestling, intramural recreation, general scholarship fund, annual giving, baseball, softball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s swimming and women’s swimming.
