Short Bio
Gary Tessmer earned his B.A. in English from Penn State University, his M.A. in English from the University of Pittsburgh, and his M.S. in Library Science from Clarion University. A former member of the Peace Corps, Mr. Tessmer has been teaching English Composition I, Composition II, Introduction to College Composition, History of the English Language, and Advanced Composition and Rhetoric at Pitt-Bradford since 1993. He also teaches the ESL sections of English Composition I and English Composition II. In the past he taught English in South Korea, and every summer he works with students from Yokohoma College of Commerce, Pitt-Bradford’s sister college in Japan. All students who speak English as a second language and who seek writing consultation will benefit from Gary's expertise in ESL/L2 teaching and learning.
Academic Focus
Professor Tessmer teaches English Composition I, Composition II, Basic Writing, History of the English Language, and Advanced Composition and Rhetoric.
