IDEA Catalyst Grant

The IDEA Catalyst Grant supports proposals from faculty, staff and students for events, projects and programs that positively contribute to help build the University into a world-class model of inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility (IDEA) defined by excellence and an environment that allows everyone to thrive and will therefore promote academic excellence, student engagement and academic success, student enrollment, strategic communications and enhanced visibility, a diverse community of scholars, and regional engagement and outreach. 

Standard Modules

Objectives:

  • To support campus and community related efforts in the areas of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (IDEA).
  • To promote sustainable programs that increase awareness and appreciation for an inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible community.
  • To promote initiatives that focus on an IDEA broad constituency in the University.
  • To support initiatives that educate the Pitt-Bradford community and others on issues of inclusion, belonging, intercultural dialogue and cross-cultural communication.
  • To promote strategies that increase belonging and engagement of marginalized, historically underrepresented and minoritized groups.
  • To complement the Pitt-Bradford Strategic Plan
    • Adding institutional strengths and reputational drivers in the areas of academics, research and scholarship, and community service. 
    • Enhancing the University’s capacity to help improve lives, systems and communities. 
    • Nurturing opportunities for Pitt community members to grow individually and to collectively create, use and share knowledge.
    • Promoting recruitment and retention of diverse students, faculty, and staff.
