Commuter Student Resources

If you've decided to commute to campus, you'll find that our course selection is large enough so you can schedule courses to meet your busy schedule. And, our parking is plentiful so you won't spend extra time trying to find a space.

We also have many cozy and comfortable areas on campus where you can read, study or just relax in between classes. And we've listed answers to few of the more frequently asked questions that we get from commuters.

Q: Can I get a locker on campus?

A: Yes, inquire at the Hanley Library information desk.

Q: Are there things to do on campus if I have a break between classes?

A: Yes. There are many things to do. You can study in the library or play a game of pool in the Frame-Westerberg Commons game room. You can relax in one of the lounges located on the first and second floors of the Commons. You can also grab a bite to eat in the Commons Café, work out in the Sport and Fitness Center, or watch TV in the Commons. On the second floor of Hanley Library, you can also go relax in the Wellness room.

Q: Will I be able to handle the workload?

A: Academic help is available if you need it. And, our professors are easily accessible and always willing to help. You also can work with trained and certified tutors at the Academic Success Center, which also provides other types of assistance.

A: Currently, there is no daycare service available. However, we offer a wide range of classes at various times to help you create a schedule that fits in your daily life.

Q: Are there events that will appeal to an adult student?

A: Yes. The Student Government Association, Student Activities Council, Nontraditional Student Association, and various other clubs bring to campus a wide variety of performers, musicians, and events to entertain students of all ages and interests. You can enjoy performance by cutting-edge comedians, world-renowned opera singers and just about everything in between.

Q: Will I fit in with the general student population?

A: Definitely. Our friendly, close-knit atmosphere assures that all students can get to know their peers and their professors, and build meaningful long-lasting relationships. In our classes and in social settings, you will find students of all ages, races, and abilities.

Q: Will there be enough parking for me since I will be a commuter?

A: Yes. Our campus offers ample parking for both on-campus and commuter students. Most parking spaces are within a few hundred yards of the Bromeley Quadrangle, which serves as the academic and social hub of campus. A nominal parking fee is required for all commuter and resident students who have a vehicle on campus.
